Series X Boot Problem When Turned on via Controller Just After Plugging Power Cord in

My brand new Series X has this strange behavior but I'm not sure if I should return it or even if this a problem I shall be worried about.

On the other hand, I would rather return it now instead of having it replaced with a refurbished one by the service center if I have a problem in the future. The seller refuses to send a replacement so I'm also afraid of any price increase until I have my money back and order a new one.

When I plug the power cord in and try to turn the console via any controller (i have two), the controller light stays on after blinking shortly like it's connected to the console. But the console is dead silent with no power led and video output. I can not turn it on via controllers anymore and the only was is pressing the power button. If I power on the second controller, it also immediately connects to the not-turning on console. If I pull the power cord out, both controllers disconnect so I know that they are actually connecting to the console but the console just does not turn on.

Fast rewind to the beginning: If I wait for 15 seconds after plugging the power in, everything works as expected. In any case, once the console boots up, it works flawlessly for several hours.

I can understand that if nothing happens during the warming up time (if there should be any but 15 seconds sound rather long) but the controller connects to the console and the console just refuses to turn on. This part seems not OK to me.

The console is set to power saving (fully turn off) and connected directly to the wall plug with no power strip/surge protector. I have also tried with several power/HDMI cables and another TV.

    What's your opinion?

    :)

In this case, your best options would be getting in touch with the seller, or submitting a repair request as explained above. Is there anything else I may assist you with?

    Thanks,

    Hi Kyle,

    Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, none of those steps has worked out.

It's really strange that after the first time, I can turn off and back on via the controller flawlessly.

I really wonder if any other user has noticed such a thing.

Hi Volkan. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

Firstly I'd recommend power cycling your console: Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on your controller.

If the issue persists, try changing your console's power setting to sleep mode. You can change this back to shutdown mode (energy saving) afterwards: Settings > General > Power options > Select the 'Sleep' option. Turn off your console, then trying turning it on again using your controller.

If that doesn't help, I'd suggest resetting your console: Go to Settings > System > Console info. Select Reset console. Select Reset and keep my games & apps.

If the reset doesn't work, it is possibly an issue with your console. In this case I'd suggest contacting the seller for further help or requesting a repair through Microsoft from this link: https://account.microsoft.com/devices/select-device-for-repair

Please reach back if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
