    Series X Account Setup - Please Help


    Trying to help walk my sister through setting up the Series X she bought her son/my nephew, but she's on the other side of the country so I can't physically take over and try to figure it out.

    In a nutshell, my nephew already started out by adding an account for himself (he's 10), and now my sister is telling me she can't figure out how to buy games digitally because even though she has created her own account she can't add money to his account so he can buy games with it.

    Am I right in thinking she should sign in with her adult account and buy Gold and games, and then he should be able to sign into his child account and use the Gold subscription she bought and play the games she bought? I have a OneX myself, but I've never had to mess with the whole child/adult account thing...

    Making my Home Xbox not working.

    I have this exact issue. His is my setup:

    My son has a One S

    I have a Series X

    I was able to set the One S as my home xbox

    I added his account to the Series X. Went to setting and then to my home xbox. At first, it is checked, then I get the circle, and the check mark is removed. Click on make this my home xbox on the Series X using his account, the circle spins, and then back to the "unchecked" box.

    Checking his (One S), my account still has that xbox as my home xbox.

    Reset networking, reset MAC address, flushed ARP cache on my switch and router, restarted all of those devices, and reset the Series X (both hard power cycle and factory reset). No luck.

    Is it due to his account technically being a Xbox One profile and mine a Series X?

    Also, my son's account is a child account but, unrestricted.

    Set up issue

    Are you using a wired or wireless internet connection?

    Try a wired connection (ethernet cable) to your network hardware and restart the console. It should connect and do the required OS update.

    If wireless choose a factory refresh of the console. After the refresh is complete, input the console setup details again.

    Setup new Series X S has further details.
