    Series X 4K@120 No Sound


    I've had my Xbox Series X set on 4K at 120Hz for the last couple of days with no issues. However, after switching it on today it has no sound. I've tried power cycling and a soft reset, but no luck. The only thing that has fixed the sound is dropping the
    refresh back to 60Hz. Is there any way to fix this so I can have it back on 120Hz?
    For reference my TV is a Sony XH9005 and I'm using the ultra high speed cable provided with the console. Any help appreciated

    Xbox Series S does not and will not support 2K at 120hz with HDMI 2.0

    HDMI 2.0 only supports 1440p60 or 1080p120.
    If you want a higher resolution with 120fps, you'll need a HDMI 2.1 cable.

    Your Series S also supports 4k with up to 120fps, just like the Series X.

    What resolution are you trying to run at

    If 4k 120 Hz then no it won't run at thaf

    The max for series s is 1440p at 120hz

    It will play at 4k bur only some games and with issues

    The series s is meant for 1080p 120 max

    With suggested 90hz

    The xbox series x and ps5 and switch pro are the only 4k consoles

    One x does 4k at 30hz and ps4 pro upscales

    While 4K 120Hz may sound nice, you'll not see it in games.

    To get the true benefit of a high refresh display is to actually run the games at the same frame rate as the the refresh rate. The Series X maybe a powerful console, but won't play the latest games @4K 120.

    Series S bad HDR on a 4K TV

    1440p 120 Hz but 4k 60hz if you really want 4k

    Keep in mind games will drop your resolution if it's too high for their settings

    You need series x and hdmi 2.1 for 4k 120hz

    It's important to leave vvr on

    That is completely incorrect.

    Series X is fully capable of 4K/120

    This monitor uses nonstandard aspect ratios, refresh rates etc. it’s almost certainly overclocked and/or just using a 120 panel and not the electronics that support it. both are required
