Selective "Drift" on new controller?

Here are some procedures that may help in your case:

Push and pull the controller's analog sticks. When you notice the drift problem, move the analog sticks in different directions and press them a few times. Also try tightening the base of these directionals. If that doesn't work, pull out the pieces and click on them next.

Change the controller batteries. In some cases, weak batteries can cause problems with the controller. Replace them and see if that resolves the situation.

Synchronize the controller again. If there is any connection issues with the controller, you can re-sync to re-establish that connection and see if that helps. Do the following:[1]
Press the connect button on the left side of the console.
Press the connect button on the top right side of the controller for a few seconds.
Keep pressing the button until the Xbox button flashes.

Update Xbox controller. Updating the controller's firmware can resolve certain issues. Do the following:[2]
Connect the controller to the Xbox using a USB cable.
Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the Dashboard.
Access the Profile and System tab.
Select Settings.
Select Devices and Connections.
Select Accessories.
Select ....
Select Firmware Version.
Select Continue.

Clean the analog sticks with compressed air. Start by taking the batteries out of the controller. Press the analog in one direction and spray air at the base of it, but on the opposite side, with strong and short bursts. Change course and repeat this process on the opposite side of the base. Then set the controller aside for a while before putting the batteries back in. See if the problem persists. [3]
Hold the can of compressed air at the same height as the controller so you don't accidentally spray moisture on it.

Clean the analog stick with alcohol. Again, start by taking the batteries out of the controller. Moisten a cotton swab with ********* alcohol and run it over the base of the analog stick. Press the piece in all directions to expose more of the base and achieve a thorough cleaning. After that, wait for the alcohol to finish drying before reinserting the batteries and playing again.

Controller drift will ruin your games

I just got a Xbox controller for Christmas. And as soon as I connected it to my Xbox it had drift on the right joystick. I opened the controller right from the box and didn’t get any dust of anything like that near it but still it drifts. I wanted a new Xbox controller because my old controller had drift. Crazy how out of the box it already has drift.

if you have a guarantee make use of it to have the damaged controls changed, many times that problem is due to dust, some hair that makes contact in the area I recommend having your controls in a clean area, you could even seek help for someone to clean
them in a some workshop or shop
