    Seagate Not Working


    I have a 4TB Seagate WD My Passport 2626 that I use to store my xbox games on. Today I decided to plug it into my computer because I am low on storage. I think I formatted it and now it only says that there is 3.63TB's left (That's how much space I had on it when it actually had my data.) I plugged it into my Xbox One and it started acting like I just plugged it in for the first time (asking me for the name of the drive, if I should format it, if it is going to be used on multiple consoles.) I didn't click format on my xbox.I know next to nothing about this sort of thing and I am super worried that my data will be lost. Can someone please help?

    A hard drive can't be used on both an Xbox and PC at the same time without reformatting it. So when you plugged it into your PC, it would have wiped the drive and reformatted it for use on the PC. If you reformat it for use on the Xbox, it will wipe anything you added to it from the PC.

    Seagate drives are not poor quality. I have used many Seagate drives in PC builds and never seen one fail. The reason they don't work with 360 is that the firmware used by Xbox was not designed for Seagate drives - nothing to do with quality.

    the 8TB Game Drive Hub made by Seagate works really well, but if you can find an SSD External drive it would be better but it will cost more. The Seagate I referred to is HDD but it works fine.
