    as per title and I done all steps from support page still no luck. PC see it and can format it. xbox not giving option to format

    hdd is second hand so it was formatted before my purchase. I am trying to sort it out for 2 days now and still no luck.

    any ideas?

    Can you provide what type of external HDD you are attempting to use EX: Seagate 2TB external HDD.

    And also please let me know is the console detecting the HDD but it only uses it as media instead of formatting it to save games & apps.

    transfer from 1 external hdd to another

    I have a Xbox One S with an external Seagate 2tb External HDD used for storage. I recently picked up a 4tb seagate external HDD. I would like to transfer all the data and saved games to the 4tb HDD i just go and use that as storage instead. I am looking
    for directions on how to do so.

    No longer sticking with Xbox

    You could try using a Seagate external hardrive that should solve your problem!

    2tb of space for around $60 everything would then be saved there instead of on the xbox itself.
