    Sea of thieves South African Servers??


    Hello!

    I have a few questions for the Microsoft team and or the related community;

    1) I would like to find out if the Sea of Thieves Servers run off of the Microsoft Azure servers? To my knowledge there are two Microsoft Azure servers in South Africa actively running to date.

    2) We have quite a growing Sea of Thieves community here in South Africa and have on multiple occasions attempted to reach out to the developers of Rare regarding information about South African servers on the Sea of Thieves forums.

    Multiple posts regarding this topic have been made and the last communication we received from one of the developers was EIGHT months ago where they stated that it is in the works however this was never followed up on to our knowledge nor have we received any ETA on if or when servers will be made available to us.

    South African Sea of Thieves servers?

    Greetings!

    Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community.

    We understand that you need help with Sea of Thieves servers. As a gamer I truly understand how important to have an own server that where you can have smooth gameplay and low ping.

    However when it comes to adding a server in game, unfortunately Microsoft doesn't have control with that because the only one who can add or manage in game servers is the game studios which the Rare (Game Developer). They have the access to the server and have the right tool to manage the game.

    For this kind of suggestion, we really highly recommend to contact directly the Rare team or submit a ticket to them.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for responding!

    I did actually contact them first and they said that I better come to you guys instead, funny enough. Apparently because they use Azure servers which is controlled by Microsoft? Not really sure. Is there any other way you would be able to help me?

    Get on Battlelog and search for South African platoons, I have a few South Africans on my friends list and they have their own server but I cant remember the name off the top of my head.

    There aren't any South African, Middle-Eastern and South American servers I'm afraid. :/

    European servers would be your best bet for the least laggy games.
