    Sea of Thieves randomly "uninstalled" itself overnight, but didn't remove any of its files....


    Yesterday I logged off the game and shut down my PC maybe 30 mins later. This morning, when I try to launch the game, the Xbox PC app says that it is uninstalled and tells me to install it. The game files are located somewhere on my PC because I don't have the extra 90GB that the game takes up, so I can't install another copy anyway. The Microsoft Store says the same thing.

    I contacted Microsoft Support, they told me to verify the image and file integrities, both came up fine. I updated windows from 21H2 to 22H2, which also didn't yield results. They then told me to contact Windows support, but the only way to do that appears to be right here, so here I am.

    The folders no longer show up in the WindowsApps folder, but I still have 90GB of storage that mysteriously vanished.

    I had the same issue. No change to my pc. Game was just gone. Same thing happened to my buddy tonight. We were gonna play. Had do re-download 88gb of game. It worked after that. Not very happy. Fun game but ****. Really dumb. Cheers!

    Why does the Xbox app insist on installing multiple installations of games on my C drive without my permission?

    Sea of thieves decided to uninstall itself for some reason over night, making it so that I cant play Sea of Thieves today due to the long download time.

    If I buy Sea of Thieves on Steam, can I play with the same account as on the xbox app version? That way I wont need to deal with the Xbox app or its version of Sea of Thieves.

    Same issue, but it seems to register randomly later on in the day.

    The sea of thieves one also randomly auto resolved itself.

    After uninstalling and reinstalling Sea of Thieves and the Xbox Game Bar many times, I am able to invite and accept invites on Sea of Thieves Insider through the Game Bar. I am able to send invites from the Game Bar for Sea of Thieves. However, when I receive an invite or try to join in on Sea of Thieves, I still have the same problem. Sea of Thieves and Sea of Thieves Insider are two different builds. There must be a file somewhere on my computer that is not being deleted or uninstalled and it's not allowing me to accept these invites on just Sea of Thieves. I don't know how to find this file.
