    Sea of Thieves Gamertag


    Hey there! I just recently bought the Xbox Game Pass for PC to be able to play Sea of Thieves on my computer, and upon downloading it the first time, my gamertag in the game was the wrong gamertag, so I created an entirely new account, got the Xbox Game
    Pass on there instead and refunded the old account's game pass, and upon uninstalling and reinstalling Sea of Thieves, my gamertag is still the old gamertag despite making an entirely new account with an entirely new gamertag? How can I fix this?

    Sea of Thieves names can take some time to update after the gamertag they're conncected to has been changed. If your Sea of Thieves name doesn't update, maybe try looking at their support website at https://support.seaofthieves.com/hc/en-gb and
    contact them if need be

    Thank you for contacting the Xbox Support forums. Before I try to assist, I do have a few questions.

    1) Are you playing Sea of Thieves on PC or Xbox?
    2) When you previously played Sea of Thieves, was that also through Game Pass? Or was it purchased elsewhere?

    3) When you originally played Sea of Thieves, was it through the same Gamertag that is now an active Game Pass subscriber?

    Unable to Join Game or Accept Invites on Sea of Thieves after installing Steam version

    After uninstalling and reinstalling Sea of Thieves and the Xbox Game Bar many times, I am able to invite and accept invites on Sea of Thieves Insider through the Game Bar. I am able to send invites from the Game Bar for Sea of Thieves. However, when I receive an invite or try to join in on Sea of Thieves, I still have the same problem. Sea of Thieves and Sea of Thieves Insider are two different builds. There must be a file somewhere on my computer that is not being deleted or uninstalled and it's not allowing me to accept these invites on just Sea of Thieves. I don't know how to find this file.

    Sea of Thieves in Alpha, and it would be linked to your account not the specific name of the gamertag. Did you change your e-mail too?

    Gamertag in Sea of Thieves

    While Microsoft transitions to the new Gamertag system, your number will be shown.

    Unless the older games are updated to make the number tag less visible, you'll have to live with that number.
