    Sea of thieves doesn't work with game pass


    Hi,

    I bought the game pass subscription some time ago and today I wanted to play sea of thieves. I started downloading, at about 7% completion I left the room and when I came back the progress bar was gone, the game nowhere to be found and on the store page instead of install button it shows me a sad emoji face. Could you help me with that?

    Games pass and live gold confusion

    Sea of thieves requires gold and game pass, unless you purchase sea of thieves, then you only need gold.

    Let's try some steps that might help. Press the Win + R key to open the Run dialog.

    Type cmd and click OK to open Command Prompt.

    In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and hit Enter to execute:

    WSReset.exe

    then try installing the game again.

    Game Pass is a subscription service to get access to games including Sea of Thieves.

    Gold is a subscription service to be able to play online. Sea of Thieves is an online only game and would require gold to be able to play it.

    Unless he own Sea of Thieves by itself, he needs both.
