Sea of Thieves crashes my PC

    Sea of Thieves crashes my PC


    I cannot fully start the game on PC. It load the intro then crashes part way through it. I have an AMD 5900/X570 - RTX 4090 latest NVidia drivers, latest AMD bios. Windows 11 fully up to date. Nothing is overclocked and no other games are giving me issues. Again this is crashing in the intro animation.

    The crash kills video and I need to reset the PC. It is likely really stressing the CPU, but it is hard for me to confirm.

    Kindly also run the game as admin. Go to the installed Sea of Thieves directory.

    Right-click on the application file on your PC.

    Click on Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab. Click on the Run this program as an administrator checkbox to enable it.

    Once done, click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

    Finally, double-click on the game app file to launch it.

    I am noting here that asking me to check if a PC with a 2 year old CPU and an RTX 4090 is capable of running this 5 year old game is nonsense.

    The store reset fixed the issue as far as I can tell. I was able to launch and play for 30 minutes.
