The message you received in the event viewer indicates that there was a problem with the Microsoft Store app or the game package. There are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:



- Make sure your Windows 10 is up to date and has the latest updates installed.

- Reset the Microsoft Store app by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced options > Reset.

- Run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Windows Store Apps.

- Uninstall and reinstall Sea of Thieves from the Microsoft Store app.

- If none of the above steps work, please contact us again with your error code and device details so we can assist you further.

Sorry if you are still getting an error message.

I'd like to know if you are using third party software like and anti-virus or game enhancements? If Yes, disable them.

Try to run Windows Defender Offline scan

Then proceed with the following troubleshooting:

1.Open MS Store

• Click on your profile picture on top right and sign-out.
  
• Then sign-in again.
  

2. Windows Key+R

• Type services.msc and press Enter
  
• Locate Background Intelligence transfer and ensure it is set to Start and Automatic.
  
• Also do the same for Windows Update service as well
  

3. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

• Windows Key+X
  
• Click Settings
  
• Click Update & security
  
• Click Troubleshoot
  
• Scroll down to the bottom
  
• Click Windows Store Apps
  
• Click Run the Troubleshooter
  

4. Reset Windows Store through Command Prompt

• Type cmd in Windows Search box
  
• Right click on Command Prompt
  
• Run As Administrator
  
• Type WSreset.exe and click Enter
  
• Reboot your computer
  

5. Re-register All Store apps

• Right click on Windows Start
  
• Right click on Windows Powershell (Admin)
  
• Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste
  
• Enter
  
• Restart your computer

Also the problem with the game not installing is only for sea of thieves but for other games they get installed but when I launch them it pops up with the error code 0x803f8001 while for sea of thieves it pops up when I try to install the game.
