SD Audio on Uverse TV Cannot Be Heard VIA Xbox One HDMI Passthough

    Here's the setup:

Uverse is connected to the Xbox One via a Version 1.4 HDMI cable.

Xbox is connected to a Yamaha receiver via Version 1.4 HDMI cable.

Uverse and Xbox One is setup for surround sound output.

    Here's the issue:

Occasionally, a few pops can be heard in the audio, but the main issue is
no audio can be heard on SD channels.

If I change the audio settings on the Uverse box to output stereo it works fine. But I have awesome 5.1 system that demands to be heard, stereo is not an option.

If I bypass the Xbox, everything works and sounds as it should. I've switched the cables around, no change. Changed a few of the Xbox Audio settings, no change. Said a few prayers, no change. I don't know how to make a voodoo doll so I'm out of options.

    Notes:

I've heard that this has been an issue for a while. I hoped that MicroSoft / Xbox / Washington / Nerds would fix it in the last major update, but that did not happen. Now my dreams have been shattered, and I wait for someone smarter than me to fix it. I really
want this to work because I love the Twitter integration in the guide. I also love to verbally command my Xbox to turn the channel to Food Network in front of my friends to let them know I live in the future ... and they don't.

    More Notes:

Sorry for the rambling, I'm writing this at work and I would rather type more stuff about this instead of doing the work they pay me to do.

Anyways, help me Xbox community ... your my only hope.

    :)

Uverse SD shows on DVR glitching

I'm having the same problems others have mentioned with SD channels on Uverse. My Uverse set top box goes into my XBox One then to my Denon AVR-1909 and finally to my Samsung PN64F8500, all via HDMI. HD channels, Bluray and Netflix all work fine. When I
try switching to a SD channel it freezes and there's no audio. Anybody had any luck with a similar setup?

how to close/shut down TV app?

Hello! When I "watch TV" the audio from my att uverse box takes over. Whenever I launch forza or any other app like Netflix I can't hear any of that audio but continue to hear the TV audio. Is there a way to shut down the TV app so I can hear my game audio
    or Netflix audio ?

Or even how do you fully close any app/game running?

    My current setup

    1. Uverse connected via HDMI to Xbox

    2. Xbox connected via HDMI to av receiver

    3. Av receiver connected via HDMI to tv

Thank you all for your help!

    Xbox 360 series controller

For xbox one controllers and xbox series controllers

by bluetooth if your pc has this (does not support audio passthrough so no headest support via controller).

by wire (this supports audio passthough for headsets via controller)

by purchasing the xbox wireless adapter for pc (this supports audio passthough for headsets via controller)
