  1. Screentime bug ?

We have created a 1.5 hour daily limit for our son on his XBOX ONE

This seems to have worked well for a while but we are now seeing usage exceed the limits

Has someone else seen this issue and found a fix ? I have tried to get a callback from MSFT but they never return the call request from their support site

    Screentime bug ?

    This is very strange.

It's true that he can create a new account or sign in with a different account so he wouldn't be affected by screen limits, but they wouldn't add to his total time.

He's clearly gone over the time you have in your image. The only way to make that happen is to have someone sign in, add more time and let him play and then change it back to 1.5 hours after he is finished so that it's set up for him next time. Is it possible
that you or your wife gave him a bit of extra time one day and forgot about it?

I'll give my son 2.5 hours on a Sunday. If he has friends come over or if he is being really good that day, I'll add an extra 30 mins or an hour and when he is finished, I'll change it back to 2.5 hours so it isn't set up with the extra time I've given him
the next time Sunday comes around.

What I would like you to do is go to the Xbox and sign in using your account. Then go to Settings - System - Signed-out content restrictions it should ask for your passkey which you will enter during this process. In that menu remove guest key if there is
one make sure access to content is set to whatever content restrictions you have set for him and ensure the box for Let people download & make new accounts is unchecked. This makes sure when no one is signed in that he cannot exceed the content limits you
have set for him and that no one can download or create new accounts unless you are signed in.

Also ensure as the.previous post has stated that there are no additional accounts besides yours and his. Also I would recommend changing your passkey just in case which you will find in the first option under account settings. This should prevent him from
being able to exceed the time limits you have set for him. Hope this helps.

Thinking about this more.....are you suggesting that he might have created a separate gaming account under his own Microsoft account and what you think he is doing is switching to that account once the limited account times out ?

Are you saying that this can be done from his child account without any notification to the parent account ?

Is this not visible from the Microsoft family account view on the web that I am looking at ?
Yes, that's what it looks like from the graph.

If he created another account it will not be seen under your family group unless it has been manually added to the family group.

If there is, please remove the account(s) (if you don't pay for anything on it). See

    here
    how to.

To prevent this do the following:

"Prevent kids from creating new accounts that aren't part of your Microsoft family (or subject to screen time limits):

    • On your Xbox, press the Xbox button, then select System >
Settings > System > Signed-out content restrictions. Then create a guest key and turn off
Let people download & make new accounts. From then on, you'll need a guest key to add new accounts."
    (Info from
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026901/microsoft-account-fix-screen-time-limits-not-working
    )

What kids may do is to create another account without you knowing and use the My Home Xbox feature to have the gold and access to games on the new account to get around your time limits. But with the graph you may have found out that he's doing this - if
    it's not glitched.
