Screenshots are always DARK

ok, this is getting annoying, everytime I take a screenshot, I go to review the image and there’s a black filter over it!!! But if you go back or forth through your images, the filter can be seen as a layer over the original image.

Can you guys do something about this, it’s been months and all my screen grabs are darkened trash sucking up memory and time.

Remove this dark filter over our screenshots, if your putting it there so that it stands out in contrast, let US make that decision. Not a preset filter.

Xbox One screenshots come out too dark

So I have been playing Elite Dangerous took screenshots to share but they are useless as the screenshots come out way darker than the picture is in your game. I have not noticed this in the past due to playing games not set in space till now. Large amounts
of detail are lost.

I brought this up on Frontier's official ED forum and others agree. One person claims there is a bug with XB1 screenshot function - it crushes the bläcks which makes screenshots for naturally dark games come out awful. You may, for example take a picture
of a spacestation but all that comes out in the screenshots are the lights, when in the game you can see all details, objects and textures clearly., including those in shadow.

Looking at games not as dark as deep space there is still a noticable difference in brightness/contrast with lack of details in shadows.

 

Some noob questions...

It just turns black. The glowstone lit up the same amount of blocks with the glass in place and without it. You can't tell how far the light travels by the screenshot because it takes such dark pictures. If you want me to, I can use my hauppauge to get
some screenshots of the actual blocks that are lit up with no glass and the glass in place.

Do you have HDR enabled by chance? We have seen some users experiencing issues with screenshots with HDR enabled, if you haven't tried, please disable that to see if there's a change.
