Have you tried a hard reset on the console along with unplugging it from the power supply at the same time to see if this resolves your issue?

Works great ..... unless I sit too far from the tv and the screen turns upside-down.

Does this occur mid-game? Specifically is it a gameplay mechanic effecting directions? Would you be able to try out pressing the XBox button to bring up the menu and see if the controls are inverted there as well?

It sounds like you inverted your Y access. Should be a setting in controls to either turn inverting Y access off or on. (select opposite of what you have now).

The first place to check would be your controller settings on Fortnite. Check to make sure the controls are not inverted.

A second place to check would be your device and accessories settings. Check the Invert Right/Left stick Y axis to make sure they are not inverted.
