    Screen Time Limit

    Xbox Parental Lock

I have a single Xbox Series X, and I want to be able to limit how much time my child spends playing games, but be able to play whenever I want myself. When I put a passcode on my account, he cannot access any of the Xbox live/Gamepass content. I have tried the following configurations:

Xbox IS Home Xbox = Adult and Child can log in as guest and play whatever he wants, whenever he wants; this bypasses any time limits and makes the passcode useless.

Xbox IS NOT Home Xbox = Adult can log in anytime using passcode and play anything anytime. Child can log into only his account, but has ZERO access to Xbox Live and ZERO access to Gamepass games that have been downloaded to Xbox hard drive.

    My goal =

1)I want the Adult to be able to use a passcode to log in and Game/Stream anything at anytime.

    2) Child must use a DIFFERENT passcode to log in and have access to Game/Stream any game on the Xbox, but ONLY between the hours of 5-9 weekdays and only 4 hours per day on the weekend.

    3) I don't care if it the same or different Xbox live account. I am fine with the Child code only working during the times above.

I have spent COUNTLESS hours on the phone with Xbox customer support, and they just keep telling me to add/subtract the Xbox as the 'Home Xbox' to try and grant/limit the child-account access. They keep telling me that it should work, but it DOESN'T. The last person said I may have to buy ANOTHER Xbox to do what I want, and this sounds absolutely ridiculous. I can't think of another device in my home that has access to the internet that lacks the ability to limit access per account. This seems like a VERY simple request in this day and age. I just want to limit the hours a specific person has access to the Xbox. Thanks for any help.

    :)

Yes, we’re having the same problem! The parental controls appear to be a great feature, but only if they actually work. If microsoft can’t fix them it’ll be back to having an argument every time we want our son to quit Fortnite (sigh).

    screen time limits

activity doesn't show up that they have been on it at all even when they are blocked , whether that be by more than the time limit or by the fact its blocked .

If there is another account on there it is mine but they need my password to access that ,

If thney have two gamer tags which did occur to me that might be the case how to I associate that with his other gamertag

I like this idea, similar to how the iPhone regulates screen time. Would be great for kid’s accounts

Thanks i will try that …..

Sorry to be somewhat sceptical but in my opinion there is no such thing as happy gaming it does nothing but bring the worst out in children and I loathe it completely it is the cause of most of the arguments in this house and kids are unable to regulate
their exposure to it willingly , it robs them completely of any imagination or desire to do anything else . it is an ongoing issue and the fact that the limits controls Microsoft have set up screw up all the time is a huge cause of irritation .
