  1. Screen time approvals on xbox take too long

We apply parental controls to manage screen time on the xbox. When there is 5 minutes of time left my son is able to send us a request to extend the time so he can finish the game he is playing.

This process has always worked well but in recent weeks it has started to take much longer for our approval to apply on the Xbox. At times it takes longer than 5 minutes and he gets kicked out of his game which is really annoying for him.

I have also experienced the same lengthy delay on screen time approvals with my daughters Win10 laptop.

The delay seems to have started around the time that the updated 'Microsoft Family Safety' stuff was released.

Can someone please explain what's changed here and how we can ensure that approvals apply in a timely way.

    :)

Thanks for replying. I'm using the Send Message option and responding from my iPhone. He usually lets me know he's sent the message so I refresh my email right away and it's there. That's working ok generally. The delay is actually from when I approve
more time until that is applied on the Xbox.

I always wait to double check it's worked - i.e. the Microsoft Family Safety page says something like "you've given X additional screen time until 5:00pm". In many cases it is then taking up to 5 minutes from then to be reflected on the Xbox.

Seems to me to be an issue with the process to communicate the approval to the Xbox. Not sure if that's on the Microsoft Account side or the Xbox though.... but given I've seen the same issue with a Windows 10 pc it would seem to be the Microsoft Account
    side.

Are you using the ask here option or send message options, I have noticed with the send message option the time it takes to get the email, depends on my email sync rate, I tried changing the sync rate of my email inbox and did notice a decrease in waiting
    time.

how do i get to speak to someone about a refund?

    Same issue here.

Got my refund request approved in 20th of Jan and no sign of my money to this day.

Microsoft says it only takes 2-3 business days for monetary refund after approval but this is taking way too long.

Xbox takes too long to start and times out

Hi Ellieandollie K, my name is Daniel and I would be happy to help.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this problem, with the intention of helping you I am going to suggest you perform some steps, do you happen to have an external hard drive connected to the console at this time?

If yes, can you unplug it and turn off the console > (press and hold the power button for 10 seconds) unplug everything from the console > wait 2 minutes and plug everything back in > Power on the console?

Once done, check if the issue persists while the external hard drive is unplugged.

If you do not have an external hard drive connected, could you tell me what the error message you are receiving is so that I can offer you better help?

    Best regards,
    Daniel.

Do you think this is cheating?

Not just lazy,at $25 just for a dot on your screen, its a rip off too.

Not to mention the damage it could do to an LCD screen if you leave it on a long time, or are constantly sticking in on and taking it off.
