This setting is there for the purpose of assisting the television screen, as provided before choosing the option:

"Dim your screen while you're not using your Xbox. This helps to preserve your TV screen."

But besides this setting, we understand that this is a first for you, as this wasn't an option before. In any case, the information that Brad has provided is a workaround that would allow the console to recognize activity enough to not dim the screen.

I'll try that, but what is strange is that the problem is quite recent because before i could easily watch a movie without being disturbed by this dull screen every 2-60 mns ( depending on what has been chosen) and needed to touch the controller to put it
back.

And my controller wasn't plug, and it was working fine, and first of all i did not touch anything...the problem just appear :-(

Thanks for coming to the forums. There is a workaround for this, you can plug the controller in with a USB cable. This will keep it on a lot longer. As you have changed the settings needed to keep it on. Try changing the settings again, then

power cycle the console. Example: go change to 10 min for dim then change to 60 min.

Thank you so much for all the explanations.

The information that Brad has provided seems to solved the problem at least for the movie i watched yesterday For 2 hours i did not have to touch the remote controller.

i haven't plug the Controller but i power cycled the console and it worked.

Anyway following your advice i'll go to xbox ideas to submit my way of thinking : i'll suggest to put the never dim the console in addition to the 2-60mns options of the inactivited menu 😬
