Screen going dark in OneGuide/TV App

As I watch TV through my XBOX One the screen starts to darken and keeps going until it's almost unwatchable. As soon as I hit the button to bring up the guide the screen brightens back up to normal. it takes about 20 minutes for the issue to return. I never
had the problem until the new XBOX One update was applied.

Oneguide and Changing Channels

please try going following the steps below and let me know if it works for you.

1) Go to the Settings app

2) Select "TV & OneGuide"

3) Select "OneGuide"

4) Select "TV line-up"

5) Enter your postcode

6) Set your TV provider

You should now be able to see all of the applicable TV listings in the OneGuide and also, control the change of channels with your voice.

OneGuide missing from App

They have officially responded on reddit:

"OneGuide, including the guide, TV controls, and TV streaming, were removed from the Windows versions of the Xbox app. To use OneGuide on Windows, get the Xbox One SmartGlass app in the Windows Store. OneGuide is still part of the Xbox app on iOS and Android."

Bump this up, I have the same issues as well and am looking for a fix. Another way to brighten the screen is hit the B button or if you have Kinect, say Xbox, Stop Listening. Anything that takes focus and leaves focus, basically.

 

Also have the same problem. Just started a couple of days ago. Screen goes dim until I turn on controller and hit stick. Also if I call through the Kinect it will rebrighten

 

I agree, whats the deal and if the xbox is going to do this give me the option to adjust this myself. I just purchased this for christmas but I will take it back if I have to.

 

same here just started for me on Jan 24. is it some setting we did without knowing the affect. this is happening about once an hour
