    Screen black out from time to time on 120/144hz


    Hey everyone,

    I'm having issues with my monitor/GPU and really don't know what it is.

    GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT

    Monitor: Gigabyte G27Q

    Windows: 11

    The thing is while working (I think without doing any specific GPU demanding task) the screen suddently blacks out and it doesn't matter if I turn the monitor on or off, unplug or plug again. The only fix is to restart the PC.

    I'm using 120hz currently, it also hapened on 144hz, but never happened on 60hz. Connected via display port.

    Anyone has any idea what could it be? I've just uninstalled and reinstall all drivers and it happend again 30m later. Anyone has any clue what could it be?

    Xbox one X 120 HZ using 1440P

    Make sure you're plugging it into the HDMI 2.0 port and not the HDMI 1.4 port, you may be in the wrong one.

    And also, some monitors just don't support 1440p at 120-144hz, some only support it at 1080p 120-144hz. It's an HDMI and screen limitation.

    got my son the MSI Optix G271 Full HD 27" IPS with 1ms response time, 2 hdmi that support 120 and 144hz and 1 display port that does 120 and 144. has freesync, states compatible with ps5 and xbox series consoles.

    brilliant screen just the usual little light bleed as its ips but no issue.

    i got it in sale for 160 pounds, they usually go on sale quite a lot too.

    What specific model # of monitor do you have? Some monitors only do 144hz over display port for instance but possibly only 60hz over hdmi.

    Why is HDR washed out only in 4K, 120hz & HDR [Series X]

    No matter the incoming signal, the panel is always running at 144hz. The hardware in the display has to be able to correctly interpolate that signal from 120-144hz. For whatever reason, that’s not happening, and Sony has the best tools to ascertain why that is. They have their internal hardware testing tools, as well as access to the designs and source code to quickly ascertain the cause of the incompatibility
