Says I need to buy BF4 but the disc is in the machine

If you buy the disc version of a game you DO need the disc in the machine.

Gold has nothing to do with it.

Yes you can use your GamerTag on each console , no need to buy another Gold sub as one sub works between the two machines , and no , your 360 copy of BF4 will not work on the Xbox One .

Sorry your having trouble. It sounds like your disc has gotten so scratched up it's unreadable. Did you try your copy in your friends machine? Sometimes machines of different ages will read discs another machine will not.

If an Xbox can't read the disc, it will say it needs the disc you used for the download. It's just looking for a readable copy of the game. I know there are companies, machines and websites out there that claim/have ways to remove scratches and repair discs,
but I've never used them. If you don't want to try the repair route, I think the only two options you have is buy another copy, or hope your friend will let you borrow his copy until you complete the game. Sorry, I wish I had more for you.

I'm an sorry to say but your disc may have a deep scratch on it. Please follow the following steps.

1. Take disc out

2. Check disc for scratches(scratches or burns can cause problems like this)

3. If scratches are found and are deep, I recommend that you clean the disc with a disc cleaning machine

4. If all else fails then you may need to buy a new disc.

Note: clear cache before trying the following steps

I have a similar problem I downloaded bf4 when it was on sale for gold members but when I try to play it I get a pop up that says I must put the disc in or buy it again, help plz
