Says i need an internet connection but i'm connected via lan cable

Oh okay thank goodness i thought all my stuff and have to start over. I'll try this when i get off work

You can still use your Microsoft account. What we meant here in creating a new user profile it is to replace your previous profile in your Windows device that got corrupted. Your Microsoft account that is used to sign in for Microsoft services like your Xbox app and other site would remain the same.
