Saving the game in old games problem

I have an Xbox series s, my first time owning an Xbox console. I bought Red Dead Redemption and started to play. The game asks me to connect to Xbox live so I can save the game. But I don't have Xbox live or want to buy it, and I can't download the account.

Can I have any other way to save the game?

Xbox Live has a free tier

Your Microsoft account is all you need to access it, which you should have set up with the system

How many save files are existing on your current game?

Too many can cause issues. Whenever you save, you should overwrite old saves. Some people always create new saves and they pile up and cause problems.

Also, in game, if your character is carrying too many keys it can cause issues.

I tried that yesterday and when that didnt work i even did a full factory reset. (Luckily most of my games were on an external hard drive) After talking to a customer support rep the last thing i have to try is an offline update. If that doesnt work
then it looks like i have a $400 lemon

If the issue does persists then the original underlying problem could be on the OS of the console itself (perhaps a failed or corrupted update). In order to clear
the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

There is a stable network connection.
The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

Thanks for replying to keep us updated. When it comes to syncing your saves back up with the cloud, that means you are re-syncing your profile with our cloud (basically a bunch of servers used for storage). Here are some other articles that you may find
helpful in this situation:

One thing you may wish to try is removing your profile from the console, restarting the console and then re-adding your profile back onto the console to re-sync the information. Just be sure that you know your log in information (email & password) before
