Save you some headaches here...

1st off i playthis on an old fatboy 360, shivering isles & other various nickel & dime dlc packs. as you u know tes4o is a game that encourages experimentation & multiple playthroughs, which is why it rocks. anyway ive been noticing nasty little game errors,
particularly when loading saves. everything will just glitch out a fallllllll to your death, reload, same thing, even older saves too. Wonderful, now your progress is really in oblivion. Lost several characters to this & saves flat out refusing to load period.
Dont panic, heres a fix. exit game 2 dashboard. Go to settings then storage devices. Clear your cache. Restart game, & reinstall the update. now your previous saves will load, error free. Also, to prevent future probs, do not overwrite saves. Dont do it. Make
new ones each time. Also handy to have a backup storage device, to make backups, especially if youve multiple characters. Ideally, you want saves for one character @ a time on the hdd. Save the others on the backups, & delete any saves associated wuth character
x, when you go to play character y. mixing them up just increases the odds of ruining multiple characters. Its a bit tedius, but its better than the alternative. dont know why this game is so dodgy on the 360 port,

yeap morrowind taught me the wonders of making your saves take up less space.

shut every door/gate behind you.

dont leave random stuff on the ground.

pick up enemy weapons that fall out of there hand and drop it in their inventory.

and most importantly never ever save over a save; ive heard it keeps the memory of the original save which in turn creates longer load times and a higher chance for freezing.

also not sure if this applies to oblivion but in skyrim ive noticed if you have alot of diffrent saves, each save takes a little longer to load [ex if you have 400 seprate saves, all those save take longer to load.] but if you have say 20 saves load times
will be fine.

Your best bet is to report, block, and move on, don't engage with them to save yourself some headache.
