    I've been using the xbox app since I built my PC as I had gamepass on my xbox one.

    I keep losing my saved game data and I can't figure out why. For some time it was working fine, a couple days later it deleted my saves on a game, fine started from the beginning. Again a few days later, saves lost. Got pretty annoyed cause at this point I had completed the game and did not pick it back up. Switched to a different game, went fine for a bit, stopped playing for a few days, downloaded the windows update, played again, saves are gone. I know it isn't data loss from the update as everything is up to date and I can't imagine my last back up on a constantly plugged in desktop PC would be DAYS AGO. What the hell is wrong with this game launcher or what is wrong with my PC? I just want to play games on my gamepass and actually have my progress be saved for more than a few days.

    If this issue is not resolved I am going to say screw Game Pass and just pay for my games on Steam as I have not yet had any issues with them.

    Can I backup game saves to a cloud with Microsoft Store?

    the majority of the store and xbox app games don't use cloud saves, you need to backup manually.

    i use the following program to backup all saves on pc before doing a refresh. make sure to backup to a folder and copy that folder to an external storage area, then use the same app to restore them.

    i take no responsibility for any data loss though.

    All saves are stored ine the cloud if you are connected to Xbox Live and and can't see why any update will be responsible in the loss of all your saves:

    Xbox Play Anywhere game doesn't support cloud saves - but that's an integral feature!

    Same issue, super annoyed about it. I kept the 'xbox game pass ultimate' so I could play my XBOX saved game on my PC when the Tv is being used by family. Feel ripped off and a loss of faith in the company.
