Save files between pc game pass and steam

Unfortunately, the Horizon 5 saved files are not transferable between Microsoft and Steam. :/

You would have to begin another progress on Steam if you intend to continue playing it on Steam. Since they're different platforms, they do not share this progress syncing feature. :/

Go to steam, click on properties under the game to locate the save file.

Then move the file to the destination under the game pass.

Transfering save files between launchers or stores on Windows is possible but from steam to Windows Store games is not as straight forward as copying and pasting the save. Firstly you will need to locate the save files in each launcher, I would recommend
backing up the save files before attempting it in case something goes wrong and you corrupt the file. You then need to copy the save file from Steam to the Gamepass save file location, once this has been done you need to rename the file and change the file
extension to match that which Gamepass uses. For example, steams file extension is ".savegame" you will need to remove that. I hope this helps

google it, there is a program that can find and move gamepass pc saves to steam saves. I know as i have used it for a few games. (PC Gamepass Save File Converter)

looking through several of the folders I don't see many files that would indicate saves, more config files and the such.
Could it be that with the game pass it saves files to a cloud, linked to my profile or something?

I know Steam saves to the cloud so i shouldnt need to port anything over, does the game pass do similar?
