Satellite Internet -Party Chat

I don't know about your specific problem, but I work in IT and deal with networks a lot and VoIP performance is often a concern for our customers.

I imagine ping response is gonna be slow, likely this could manifest in audio delay, it'll take time for your voice to reach others and their responses will take time to come back, resulting in long gaps between you saying something and getting a reply.

The other thing that can affect voice quality is bandwidth. Not sure how much satellite internet can manage, but VoIP can be surprisingly bandwidth hungry. If the bandwidth is low, the audio is gonna cut out and crackle a whole lot. We had a company try
to use IP phones in their sites on old ADSL lines (10mbps max) and it just didn't work well, they had to upgrade the whole estate to fibre.

Also without QoS (partitioning your bandwidth so there is reserved space for certain applications, probably not something that will be available to you) any other use of the internet could take up bandwidth and squeeze out the audio, again, will manifest
in cut outs and crackle.

If your upload signal is on a phone line, it should be correct but if all download and upload are on the satellite connection, you risk to get a big delay + echo (as satellite calls from the past...). Ping are too big so mutiplayer will be impossible.

could be becuase it's satellite internet , cable,dsl is better than satellite internet anyway try cable or dsl if satellite is all you can get better sure ps4 can handle it to.

Isn't SkyFiber satellite internet?
