Samsung QM85D 4K Panel and xbox One X

Hi, My tv is Samsung QM85D 4K, I had plug my one X to HDMI 1, but it can't show 4K resolution.

after I check the spec of QM85D, DP port is 4K and 60Hz, then I use DP to HDMI cable to connect with One X, TV shows no signal~

any possible way could make my One X display at 4K?

    :)

    Xbox One S - Which HDR TV's?

    support.xbox.com/.../troubleshooting-4K-and-HDR-on-xbox-one-s

    ->

"Names for HDR10 HDR Premium, High Dynamic Range, HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep color "

UHD Color is the Samsung equivalent of HDR10 and supported by the 40" Samsung TV model in the other thread. Look it up in the manual. The other guy mentioned also that he eventually got an LG, so there's another HDR supported 40" panel for your needs.

    The
QM85D is a so called Digital Signage
display, which means it is made for store advertising displays or high resolution information displays in public places. Therefore it is mainly used to connect to a PC via DisplayPort. Not an entertainment display for
    home use.

The display also "only" supports HDCP standard 1.4, which means UHD up to 30Hz only, according to the technical specification on the Samsung website.

So I'm afraid, you probably won't be getting a 4K UHD compliant image from the Xbox One X on that particular display.

I found a way to solve the problem, I bought a "HDMI 2.0 to DisplayPort 1.2 Converter" from Amazon, and it's working fine now, my xBox one x could turn the resolution to 4K 60hz.

anyone had this problem, may buy this kind of converter to solve the 4K problem.

    1440 @120hz or 4K HDR @60hz

Hi I just wanted to let you know I have studied the xbox one x and 4k hdr thing since I bought my one x and 4k qled tv. Hdmi 2.0 only supports:

    4k in 60 hz

1440 in 120hz if you have 120hz panel

    1080p at 120hz with 120 panel

    720p at 120hz with 120 panel

Don't remember 480i but who cares. Lol

I also wanted to mention most budget 10 bit displays are really just 8bit+frc (frame rate control). They claim to be 10 bit, but it is really just light tricks the tv uses to fake true hdr. This allows the tv to accept the 10 bit signal, but if you find
yourself fiddling with tv and xbox settings with an 8bit+ panel know that it will never look right. That is because it isnt true 10 bit hdr.

    P.s. I have a Samsung 55 q60r 4k smart qled.

My Xbox One X certainly puts out 4K HDR to my Samsung 4K TV. Not sure why you are fishing.
