    I live in a state without sales tax. Why am I being charged a sales tax when I try to buy a game?

    How Much is Tax When Gifting a Video Game

    The tax is entirely dependent on your State/Countries Sales Tax and gifts have no added taxes aside from your usual sales tax. You can google your locations sales tax and calculate for yourself

    here     or go in like you're purchasing the game on your system and see how much it'll cost since it shows how much it'll cost with taxes.

    Hi there, Spartan7P49. If you are seeing "plus tax" that just means that MSFt recognizes that your region/area has a sales tax. Even if sales tax were applied, it wouldn't matter. For me, sales tax is about 9%. But 9% of $0 is $0, right?

    Most likely you are now paying sales tax. Unless you live in a state with no sales tax, most states have pushed for sales taxes to be applied to online purchases because of the loss of revenue.

    Most likely you are now paying sales tax. Unless you live in a state with no sales tax, most states have pushed for sales taxes to be applied to online purchases because of the loss of revenue.
    Sales tax would be understandable but $14.99 for a regular monthly and a sales tax of $16.54? So a total of $31.53? Then why isn't that charge admitted on my history of charges through Microsoft. It's not on there history but my bank account history clearly
    shows it.
