    Right HDMI port for XBOX one


    I have an older original Xbox One, on my TV there are two HDMI ports one labeled as ARC and the other MHL. Does it matter which one I use to connect my Xbox to? I have 1080P TV. Right now I have Xbox connected to HDMI labeled MHL, is that good? I was told by electronic specialist that Xbox is good with any HDMI is that true?

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    You can use both but I would recommend MHL. That's what I use on my Xbox One S.

    Do you have the hdmi cable plugged in to the right hdmi port on your console? Ot has two hdmi ports. One for hdmi in and one for hdmi out. Make sure your hdmi cable is plugged in to the hdmi out port(the one closest to the power brick) and run that into
    the tv.

    Currently, no. The only way right now is to either plug an HDMI cable directly into your TV or into the Xbox One HDMI port.

    Hi there have you connected it to the right HDMI port on your xbox bear in mind there are 2 ports one to T.V and one from t.v hope this helps.

    How the Xbox One works with being able to control the TV is that the Xbox One has a HDMI In port and a HDMI Out port. If a person had a cable set-top box, they would take the HDMI cable from that and plug it into the HDMI In port on the Xbox One, and then
    connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI Out port and connect that to the TV.



    In your case, I think it could only work if your TV had both a HDMI Out port and a HDMI In port. If this is the case, which I don't ever think I've heard of a thing for just a TV (I guess it could be possible), then you would go from the TV's HDMI Out port
    to the Xbox One's HDMI In port and from the Xbox One's HDMI Out port to the TV's HDMI In port.
