Reward statements not adding up

I noticed my account was low on funds, which left me confused, so I went through my reward statements. I saw that in the month of October I spent at least $160 on various titles in the Xbox store while having the 10% rebate and yet I only have 3000 credits???

You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at Xbox Live Rewards .

-or-

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least $300 USD or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
back as payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP.

In September 2014 we changed to the MyVIP policy. As a result, payback based off Gamerscore (MyAchievements) was discontinued. Also, as of July 2014, we do not award Credits for Xbox Live Gold renewals. In September 2015, we made some refinements to the
program. One change that happened was an adjustment of MyVIP purchase thresholds. If you did not reach any MyVIP ranks with your purchases from September 2014-August 31st 2015, you were placed at a default rank. Since you were a zero star member, you did not
get payback Credits on your purchases. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (Xbox Live Rewards).

Since you recently obtained your first star, you can expect payback for your eligible purchases this month to be placed as pending halfway through the following month (January).

 

Support will double check for you, but keep in mind that subscriptions, in-game consumables, and preorders don't count towards VIP. Also any purchases that count towards another offer on the site will not count towards your rebate.

We see the following purchases in October; as Smwutches mentions, game consumables and pre-orders are not eligible for MyVIP:

Destiny Silver - Game Consumable - 4.99 Not eligible

Battlefield 1 - Game Pre-Order - 53.99 Not eligible

Destiny Silver - Game Consumable - 9.98 Not Eligible

Furthermore, the 3000 Credits you are referring to are for your purchases in September, not October. Payback is awarded the following month after purchases are made.

However, as you can see, there is a very large discrepancy between the purchase amount we have and the $160 you describe. Are we missing any purchases in October?

Thanks for that information. Those purchases were made on November 3 and 6th. Since we calculate MyVIP payback on a monthly basis and place the Credits as pending midway through the following month, it is too early to see payback on those purchases. They
should appear midway through December.
