Reverting controller software on pc Bluetooth.

Same and no updates? No way to even revert the drivers if you have the controller for PC and don't have a console? Why have a PC Bluetooth option if you are not going to support it.

Yes, I updated the controller using the xbox accessories app on my PC. Before I updated the controller my PC was able to find my controller via Bluetooth but asked for password and couldn't connect. Once I updated the controller it was no longer detectable by my PC via Bluetooth. I have reverted the update but this has had no effect so I have updated it again and still nothing.

It does not show on my PC / I cannot see it in the Xbox accessories because the console FW is too far ahead for the PC to understand at this time, however I am still able to use my controller to play my games on the PC when it is connected via USB-C. It does not register as a "Controller" on Bluetooth in this firmware.

I've reverted my controller to 4.8.1908.0 and it registers on the PC via Bluetooth. I have not had any issues with gameplay.

So no need to update now. If everything works, leave it be.

I had a standard Xbox one controller that functioned fine on Xbox and when connected to a PC with bluetooth or with a wire. Then I updated it. It stopped functioning when connected to a PC with bluetooth and only worked with games launched from Steam. I reverted the firmware through my Xbox and now its fully functional again.

I just recently got an Elite Series 2 controller. When connecting to my PC with bluetooth it worked fine except for the fact that the "A" button kept bringing up the game bar. It made it unusable through bluetooth. When I used a wired connection it was fine. I was also able to remap it using the PC accessories app. I read online that updating it could fix the "A" button issue. The accessories app on the PC did not give me an update prompt but the accessories app on my Xbox did. After updating on the Xbox I tried reconnecting with to PC with bluetooth and it now had the same issue that my Xbox One controller was having! In addition, when I connected it to my PC with a wire, the accessories app said my controllers firmware wasn't compatible. So once again, I used my Xbox to revert the firmware on my Elite Series 2 Controller and guess what? It fixed all the issues. Full functionality on PC with bluetooth, the "A" button no longer brought up the game bar, and it was compatible with the accessories app again.

Basically, whatever Microsoft has going on right now with their controller updates is breaking them. If you have an Xbox, revert your controllers firmware. If you don't have an Xbox, I'm very sorry. You're just going to have to deal with a wired connection and use your $200 controller without any of its fancy features until Microsoft can get it together. Trust me on this. Before I figured out how to revert the firmware I spent days trying everything I could find on the internet, trying suggestions in this forum, and talked to a bunch of different Microsoft reps until finally one suggested reverting. What's funny is a rep I talked to before the last one said I couldn't revert the firmware. Funny how that works. Save yourself some sanity and just be patient. It sucks but there's nothing you can do. If you don't have an Xbox I would suggest going to GameStop or something and ask nicely to connect to a display model and revert the controller firmware that way.

Update: While reverting the firmware of my xbox one controller fixed all problems, my elite series 2 controller now randomly disconnects causing a huge temprary FPS drop on PC. This is so stupid. I'm not spending another week talking to reps who barely know what they're talking about. I'm leaving it as is until a new update comes out. I'm drained. How this isn't a "known issue" is beyond me.

The firmware I revert to is 4.8.1908.0

The firmware I update to is 5.11.3118.0

We are gonna proceed to uninstall the software and reinstall it to see if that fixes the issue because it seems to be an issue with the software instead of the controllers.
