Returning a child to the family.

We have a family Microsoft account to enable our 12 year old grandson to enjoy his xbox. We have xbox family app installed in order to safeguard and limit his screen time. He has independently signed up for his own account in order to avoid control over
his time on xbox. This has involved him giving a false age in order to gain an account and is presumably illegal. How do we get him back onto family and avoid him repeating the same avoidance procedure in future?

What you need to do is re-set his console and sign in using your own account. Then, create a passcode for your account and then add his profile to it. Then make sure that no one can add profiles without your permission (passcode will be required).

settings --> system --> signed-out content restrictions --> create a guest key --> Uncheck the box, let people download/make accounts

You can have your child on a controlled child account or make a family plan and put parental controls on his account by adding him to the family plan

There is no refunds for digital purchases as there is no way to return the item or ensure you deleted it

creating a child account. This usually is a $1.00 charge that is returned to the card.

I'm sorry you have this problem, researching on the internet I was able to find that in the forum, the independent advisor Geri M, recommends the following steps for a solution.

It sounds like you are having trouble removing a child from a family group and at the same time you as the organizer.

Let us check this together and resolve it to help your concern.

To remove a child from a family group, you must:

Click Manage my child's profile information and find your family member.

Select Remove consent for this child's account.

Return to the family group.

Click More options below the family member you want to remove from your family group.

Select Remove from family group > Remove.

Only family group organizers can remove family members. Leave the family group or remove members - Microsoft Support.

Are you under a family plan or an child account?

If child account then no setting will let you download an demos or betas

For legal reasons

Demos and trailers and in Most cases m rated or rp betas cannot because of the content laws covering minors and m

rated ads

For family accounts you either have to leave the plan to get the betas but you have to wait 7 days before you return or you create a seperate account
