Retaliation Bug on Xbox One Back Compat

I've dealt with this bug on the Xbox360, it was a pain, but used the thumb drive work around to get the game and multiplayer to load proper. It some how corrected itself, but it has now reared it's ugly head on the X-One back compat. How do we work around
this bug on the back compat console? X-One doesn't seem to want to use a 1Gb thumb drive. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Volus and Vorcha Engineer Glitch

You're not the only one. It seems to affect the new Retaliation characters. Perhaps one day, they'll fix the bug and we'll be back to Square One.

Game bug in back compat

In the backwards compatible version there's a black screen bug where the save icon comes up and the game just freezes

I have finally found a work around for the Retaliation glitch on XBone back compat console. Its somewhat similar to the work around on the XB360, only no thumb drive required.

1. Assuming your ME3 is already in the drive and waiting for you to press start. Press the XBone home key and then the start button. On the menu, choose Manage Game.

2. Scroll to the Retaliation Pack and uninstall it.

3. Go back to your ME3 game that's waiting for you to press start, and start the game and get connected to the EA servers.

4. Once connected to the EA servers, Hit the home key on your controller and then press start. Scroll down and choose Manage game, only this time, scroll down the left side menu to Ready to Install and choose the Retaliation Pack to start the download.

5. Once it's downloaded, Mass Effect 3 will check your downloaded content again, only this time it won't freeze the XB360 Console and you'll be able to play the multiplayer of Mass Effect 3.

Quick note. With this work around, you can join games directly or by hosting a lobby of your own. If you try to join friends by invitation, you will quickly see that your console will again freeze because it takes you back to the main menu screen and rechecks
your downloaded content. If you want to join friends who are already in a lobby, just ask them to set the lobby to something like Firebase Condor - Collectors - Platinum (I know, insane right?), and then you search for that same game lobby and you should
have no problem joining. If your friends set the lobby to Friends Only you should be able to join without worrying about a random taking your place. Reset the game parameters, get equipped if needed and be sure no one gets left behind.

Seems this bug also only affects Xbox One/Series X/S games. Been playing some Xbox 360 games on back compat and they show achievements just fine after hours of play.

Thanks for the response, but I don't believe Valve had anything to do with making their Xbox 360 games Backwards compatible other than maybe giving the go ahead, maybe.

These bugs only persist on the Xbox One X enhanced backwards compatible versions and I read that all of that work is done by the team that handles the BC end of things. It's not a in-game bug as it never existed on the original, non-enhanced versions of
the game, it's a Xbone X enhanced BC bug.

Because the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion is back-compatible on Xbox One. A remastered version of Skyrim was released on Xbox One, but the Xbox 360 version of the game is not on back-compat at this time.
