Retail versions of XBLA games leaving two seperate entries on profile.

Hey, Indie! I have an update!

First, it appears that RE Revelations 2 has been resolved. I haven't seen that duplicated in a few weeks on either the website or the Xbox App.

For Tales from the Borderlands, that is still duplicating on the Xbox App, but not on the website. Can you check the website and your console to make sure you see the same? I'm still pushing them for the Xbox App fix, and will let you know once it's fully
resolved once I receive word back.

 

It is still showing up on my xbox.com profile as well as the app on the xbox one. On my profile it shows

Tales from the Borderlands (360 Version): 1000/1000 Achievements

Tales from the Borderlands (Duplicate): 0/0 Achievements

Tales from the Borderlands (XBO version): 1000/1000 Achievements

If you can view my profile and compare games you may be able to see it as well, but this image is what I am getting right now..

The Wolf Among Us, Minecraft: Story Mode, Game of Thrones (Telltale), and Walking Dead Season 1 & 2 also do that on xbox 360. it never really bothered me, but it did seem odd.

i don't have revelations on my gamertag, so i can't find the links at the moment. i always though it was something to do with the way the game loaded into sort of an episode selection screen (being 0/0 achievements), then once it loaded the first episode,
you have the entry with achievements, with more being added upon release with title updates. that kind of doesn't make sense though when you consider that the entire episode 1 is downloaded as an XBLA with DLC starting at the 2nd one. (rather than episode
1 being treated as a DLC itself.)

as for xbox one, it's clear things are very different with that system, because all the achievements for the episodic games get released at once. right now minecraft has 8 episodes worth of achievements listed, while only 6 are released. 360 usually has
to wait until AFTER the release before the achievement list gets updated.

 

Life is Strange, The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief, and Adera (Windows 8) are the only games i can find that are set up the same (main game + DLC), that don't create duplicates. (as opposed to Wallace & Grommit, where each episode is a separate XBLA with
no DLC.)

 

Whoa-ho. Thanks, Mythril! I'll pass this all along to the team looking into this to make sure these are all fixed, too.

The reason why Xbox 360 games have to wait for the achievements to go up is because those are included in the game itself. It's not the same on Xbox One. I'm working with the team, and have been for a while, to make sure digital and retail versions of games
react the same across the board.

Your details helps out a lot, guys! I'll get this over and post back again when I have more information.

 

Side note: Indie - what link are you looking at when you view these games. I can only use the compare achievements link, and if you're using something else, I need to make sure the team is aware of that link being broken, too.

EDIT: Mythril, can you please post back screenshots where you see these, too? In compare achievements, I don't see them duplicated. I still want to pass along this info, though, and I'm going to check the Xbox App as well before I submit

Misses Quinzel, Going to xbox.com and logging in and clicking over to my profile page. I then click on the link that says achievements. The entry is located on my achievements page. Now I know you said it wasn't fixed on the achievements app on the Xbox
One but I will confirm it is still there as well.

Hey, Indie! I know it's been a couple months, but I wanted to make sure you knew that I'm still chipping away at this. We have resolved a few different games that should no longer be multiplying like yours is, but Tales from the Borderlands is still something
that is showing duplicate achievement sections. I don't have any new information outside of that, but I promise I haven't let this slip.

 

Thanks for the update. Yeah Tales from the Borderlands is the only one showing up like that for me. I appreciate all you guys have done. I have noticed it seems to be tied to the fact that it shows up on the xbox one and the site together so it appears
to be tied at that level.

 

That's what I've been trying to explain (to the teams working on this). So you know what's going on, the Xbox One and the Xbox App should have the same information going to them for 360 achievements, and the Xbox One achievements have a different "hidden"
set up than the 360. That's why it appears like it is; it's just not hiding them the same way.

Once I get confirmation it's resolved I'll hop back in here and give you an update. Likewise, if you see anything change on your end, let me know! Again, I really appreciate your patience with this long-tail issue.

Anyway, hi! It's been about a month. I've been pushing for answers on this still, but haven't really got any. However, one thing that has been brought up is if it's still duplicating for you in certain areas. This hasn't been asked of you in a while, and
the investigating teams would like clarification. I can only see it when I compare achievements with you on the Xbox App on both PC and my phone. Can you post back with a list of where you still see the duplicated achievements for Tales from the Borderlands,
and accompanying screenshots, please? It would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sure thing! First off I'm seeing this on the XBox One console under the achievements section. I'm also seeing it show up on the achievement section on xbox.com, the xbox app on my smartphone and the xbox app on Windows 10. Here are a couple of screenshots.
I can get screenshots from Windows 10 and the Xbox One Console vas well if you need them. All four of them show up exactly like this though

Thanks so much! I told them that you can provide screenshots for PC and the console, but I don't think that's necessary since I can see both of those myself.

I don't know what will come of this, but I will come back again once I have another update. Thanks again for your patience! I know this has been going a while, but you've been terrific here.
