    Restricting renaming of Group Chats to Host/Owner of Chat ONLY


    So this is a problem which seems to be going on for years now. As a recent Xbox user it was very disappointing to see.

    The entire issue is anyone OTHER than the group chat owner is able to rename the chats, which initially while being annoying has now gone on to become a cancerous herd culture in the Xbox community.

    People either from a LFG or people added by others in group or trolls just change the chat names to racist things or kids going around making profanity filled chat names.

    ALSO, there is NO way to report them for doing this specific malicious activity.

    It is SHOCKING Xbox doesn’t set it do “ONLY OWNER CAN RENAME CHATS” by default, besides not being able to report racist/profane renaming users.

    Over the past half year this has gone on wayy too much and this needs to be fixed and it’s a simple easy to implement unless Xbox is aware of this and blatantly wants to encourage racism/profanity default community culture, and not even giving us an option to report such evildoers smh. So what are possible solutions here… apart from Xbox actually just doing a simple ‘only owner can rename their group chat restriction’ ? because there always seem to be a couple anti-social elements present in group chats.

    Party chat vs in game chat?

    Party chat is a voice chat with only people that you invite or invite you in a group, in-game chat is the chat with everyone that is in the match you're playing in.

    do not launch any games/apps

    1 person starts party turns on party - do not send invite

    join party host by going to friends list, choose friend hosting party, join party

    turn on party chat

    NAT TROUBLESHOOTING DID NOT HELP ME!

    MS should upgrade all XBOX LIVE members to premium Skype membership to use group chat there.

    360 Chat works fine.

    SKYPE works fine.

    well I’m trying to play nba 2k17, I don’t think you have to have voice chat to play online lol, and it’s a suspension. I read the message at xbox enforcement and it says nothing about not being able to play online, just voice communication and messages.

    During a communication suspension you are allow to play multiplayer games but there is one exception to that, if the game requires voice communications to play the game and you have a comm ban then you will not be able to play that game in multiplayer mode.

    I thing think this is the scenario you are describing
