  1. Restrcting Server Access for Child Account in Minecraft on Xbox

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to seek assistance in adjusting the privacy and online safety settings for my child's account on Xbox, specifically regarding their access to servers in Minecraft.

Currently, my child's account has been granted permission to join servers in Minecraft, but I would like to restrict this access for safety reasons. I want to ensure that they can only play the game within a controlled environment.

I have searched through the Xbox account management website but couldn't find the appropriate option to disable server access for my child's account. I kindly request your guidance on how to modify the account settings to prevent my child's account from joining servers in Minecraft on Xbox.

Could you please provide detailed instructions or direct me to the correct settings page where I can make the necessary changes? Your expertise and support in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

Restrcting Server Access for Child Account in Minecraft on Xbox

Hello Danylo, this is Manuela. I'm an Independent Advisor and community user like you, ready to assist with this.

    Not a Microsoft employee.

To restrict your child to join servers in Minecraft, I can suggest you to block the following privacy settings:

https://account.xbox.com/Settings -> Sign in here with the parent account and select the gamertag associated with your child profile.

Under Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety

    “Child's gamertag” can:

You can play with players outside of Xbox Live

    Join multiplayer games.

You can do this in the Xbox console as well.

Why does it say "log in to Xbox to join this server" when I try to join a mc server?

Hello CryingOrca789, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

When you try to join a Minecraft server and the message "Sign in to Xbox to join this server" appears, it means that you need to have an Xbox Live account to be able to access multiplayer functionality in Minecraft. The Xbox Live account allows you to access Xbox online services, including the multiplayer servers in Minecraft.

Importantly, you need an Xbox Live account to be able to play on external servers in Minecraft, regardless of whether or not you have a physical Xbox console. The Xbox Live account is used as a form of authentication and identity verification to access Minecraft online services.

If you already have an Xbox Live account, make sure you're using the correct credentials when trying to sign in to Minecraft. Verify that the username and password are correct and that you are using the same Xbox Live account that is required to access the server in question.

If you are still having trouble signing into Xbox Live from Minecraft, I would recommend checking your Xbox Live account settings and making sure there are no restrictions or blocks preventing access to online services.

    Best regards.

    Connecting issues.

    Hello michael johnson2,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

We understand that you are trying to join to a Minecraft server and is unable to because of the error message: "connecting to external server." Let us check on this together so you will get back to gaming.

Based on your description, you were unable to join the server on your mobile device. There are common reason that may have caused this issue, like Multiplayer in your account's privacy was not yet allowed or failed to connect to the internet or the current version of your Minecraft needs update or you are trying to connect to the server for Java not Bedrock version or you might need to contact the admin of the server you are trying to join.

Based on this support article (Minecraft Dedicated and Featured Servers FAQ – Home), you will need to be connected to the internet and select Join server to get started. Please check update of Minecraft on your device's application store to make sure you are up-to-date. For the child security, parents or the adults managing the Microsoft Family will be able to allow an account to join multiplayer and befriend players. To know more about it, please check these link:

Lastly, you may need to contact the admin of the server if you are joining a server for Bedrock Edition of Minecraft or Java.

We hope that helps! Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

Multiplayer in Minecraft Java for pc.

    Hello Kids Dad,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I can see that you're having trouble with Minecraft Java multiplayer. Just to clarify, Minecraft Java and Minecraft Bedrock are two different versions of the game, and they have different multiplayer options.

For Minecraft Java, you can play multiplayer by either joining a server or creating your own server. To join a server, you'll need to know the server's IP address and port number. To create your own server, you can use software like Minecraft Server.

If you're trying to play Minecraft Bedrock multiplayer, you'll need to make sure that your child has an Xbox Live account and that their account is set up for online multiplayer. You can check this by going to the Xbox website and signing in with your child's account. From there, go to the "Privacy & online safety" section and make sure that "Join multiplayer games" is set to "Allow".

If you've already done this and your child still can't play multiplayer, it's possible that there may be an issue with your network settings or firewall. You may want to try resetting your router or contacting your internet service provider for assistance.

We're looking forward to hearing from you. If there are any inquiries about our description or if there are any misconceptions, do reply to the post.
