    Resident Evil VII freezes and crashes my Series X


    As per my title, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard freezes during the opening cutscene when Ethan calls his friend on the phone. After his wife says "stay away" the screen goes black and then the audio file for Ethan making the call plays but subtitles do not appear. The screen stays black, and nothing happens, no pause menu appears when press, and if you wait it will crash the console making it turn off. Sometimes even just launching the game from the dashboard causes the console to just shut off.

    All of my other games work perfectly. It's just resident evil 7.

    I've tried quitting the application and restarting the game. I've tried restarting the console. I've tried fully powering down the console, then unplugging for 15 minutes. I've tried reinstalling the game twice. I still get the same exact problem every single time.

    I want to play this game but it currently seems impossible. What can I do?

    This is through Game Pass Ultimate, I did not purchase the game.

    @BlackSilverace, buying on PS3 you will get the ugly PSone edition! You don't want that kind of graphics! I have them all on the good old nintendo gamecube on high graphics settings :p

    If you own a digital copy of Resident Evil 4 on Xbox 360, it should be available to download and play on your Xbox Series X because it is listed as a backward compatible game.
    It's not backwards compatible. The Xbox One port of the game works on the Series X, but the 360 version is not playable on the Xbox One or Series X|S.
