Resetting xbox360

Hi All, I purchased a second hand Xbox 360 only to find out that it has been modded to play written games. My question is: can I reset to factory default or will this couse issues?

Definitely return ASAP if you can. 99% of modded consoles it is hardwired into the system itself and a typical factory reset won’t clear it. I mean, after all, you probably got the system pretty much factory reset when it arrived so doing it again won’t
change it

If it's been modded, the best thing to do would be to return it to where it was purchased for a refund/exchange. Depending on exactly how the modding was done, a factory reset won't clear that and you would be putting yourself at risk for being banned
by using the console.

I agree with Smutches. Modded consoles have a high chance of being banned and that would also include your account. Safe bet is to stop using it immediately and return it.
