Reset an unknown password.

Hi. I got my kids a series x. Made them an account because it’s got 24 months of game pass. Made a new outlook email. Finished setting up on the Xbox app. Downloaded a game. Went to play a game. Asked me to sign in. Phone phone created a random password and didn’t save it. I can’t sign in. Went to reset password and put in MY email address for the reset code to be sent to. Answer the security questions. Got an email saying there wasn’t enough info to prove I own that account to reset the pass work. I keep going in circles and can’t reset the password for the kids Xbox. What do I do!? If I create a new account I’ll loose the game pass and need to pay for another one.

Hello Ryan, unfortunately you can't create a new account, that's because the subscription you activated is on that account you can't login.

I don't know if you've already tried to enter this account that I create through the PC, if you haven't tried, click on the link below and log in with it and see if you can enter, if you can try to add the security information to the account.

The problem is that the password is unknown so when I enter the account, Microsoft states it cant be found? how can you reset a password when the account cant be found. Therefore, I would like to reset the account email address.

Hello I have Ben trying to get into my account for about half of a year now my account was locked out but it isn’t anymore and I don’t know my password and I can reset it because it sends it to a random phone number or a phone number I don’t have anymore but on my Xbox I have the account I’m trying to get into but when I try to reset password it still sends it to a unknown phone number so I can get into the account but I can’t reset the password is there still anyway I can reset my password or am I just stuck with the unknown one I have now

Also I am scared to guess my password to many times and lock my account out again

yes but like the PET and many others have said your account is LOCKED to prevent fraudulant charges and further unauthorized access and unknown changes (safety first)

when the investigators complete their job and send the password reset email he can resume using the profile

xbox does take security seriously

in the password reset email you will receive tips on what to update to secure the account and make sure you don't leave a password reset option as the same as before
