    Reselling my digital download


    Hello Microsoft,

    I have been looking for a couple of hours as to how I can resell my digital games I bought over the years for my xbox one, to no avail. In fact, I have found information that states that it is not allowed in the EULA.

    Strangely though in the European Community where I live, a law was created in 2012 to prevent this practice from the big tech companies. It specifically states that what whatever the EULA states, a consumer must be allowed to resell their digital purchases.

    Could Microsoft please contact me here to inform me as to how I can proceed with the transfer of the licences of my games to a 3rd party?

    I'd never pay over £20 for a digital download due to the fact you dont own it so theres no resell value.

    What's everyone's thoughts if Microsoft offered some sort of buy back program or digital trade-in for credit in the marketplace?

    It's because there isn't a resale value of a digital copy. When you buy digitally you are paying for the game files and the license. The reason you get money from physical copy is because they can turn around and resell that game. With digital there is
    nothing to resell.

    If you have a game on disc and want to have it as digital game you have to buy the digital Version on the Microsoft store or as download key again. After that you could resell the disc if you want. Your savegames will carry over to the digital Version
    as long as it is the same account.
