Requires a hard drive.

Very frustrating to purchase for son for Christmas, his only request, only to discover it doesn't play on his Xbox 360, because he doesn't have a hard drive. Please call the system something else if a not all games play on them. It's not the same 'system'
if it can't play all the games for that system.

If the game says it requires a hard drive, then it needs an Xbox hard drive. Some games require the hard drive due to system files on the drive.

Some games do require an Xbox hard drive due to the system files on the drives. External hard drives will not work. They require an official MS Xbox 360 hard drive.

 

The system can play the game just fine. But the game itself requires a hard drive, pretty sure it says it right on the box too. Blame the game not the system.

 

does anyone know if it has to be an official microsoft hard drive? there are cheaper alternatives that fit in but i dont need it if destiny wont recognise it

 

I bought my son a 3rd party 320GB hard drive for his Xbox 360 4GB system and he's getting the error message that the game requires a microsoft hard drive. Anyway to get around that? If not, looks like we'll trade in the game for something else as I'm NOT
going to buy a microsoft hard drive!!

 

We bought the game, a hard drive and a cable for the drive and we still can't play the game. I hate this. I have upset kids.

 

You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.
