    Requesting Help With Xbox Game Bar on Windows 11


    Hello,

    I recently played a game called Perfect Dark off an Xbox One. I have deleted my information on the Xbox One, but my Xbox game bar on Windows 11 still states that I am playing Xbox 360 Dashboard.

    The game bar will now not update to what game I'm playing. Whereas previous to today, if I were playing Halo Infinite it would show Halo Infinite. However, when I play Halo or Apex or any other game, it will still show Xbox 360 Dashboard.

    Please advise on how to fix and what further actions I can take. The Uninstall option is greyed out in the advanced options, so I can't uninstall/reinstall. I ran through the Repair and Reset options and nothing happened; the Terminate option is useless.

    Been having the same problem for just as long. This is definitely some kind of Windows 11 and Xbox game bar issue. Audio is perfect in every other app but the game bar.

    Just to clarify you are talking about PC? If so are you on windows 10 or windows 11 and are you using the Xbox app or the Game Bar for parties?

    To enable Xbox Game Bar to run in the background on Windows 11, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Settings and click on Gaming.

    2. Click on Xbox Game Bar and turn on the option to Open Xbox Game Bar using a keyboard shortcut.

    3. Go back to Apps and select Apps & features.

    4. Search for Xbox Game Bar and select Advanced options.

    5. Make sure the Background app permissions are turned on.

    If the app is still not working, try repairing or resetting it. You can also press Windows + G to open Xbox Game Bar.
