    hi,

    first time posting on here.

    lastnight i killed someone on gta v then they invited me to a party which i joined to listen to what they had to say, cut long story short they have then gone on to ddos me bringing down the internet connection i was hooked up too. i then switched internet
    connection and they re - invited me then going on to saying things like, why did your internet go off laughinh ect ect.. throughout the messages on x-box live he has admitting stealing my ip , telling me where i live , telling me they did it , telling me im
    using 4g and also admitting to been able to retreive "more" information about me if they wanted too. surley this is classed as stealing personal information ect and with mesages could it be considerd as proof to xbox live team to investigate. also i know it
    is pretty sad but i am looking to report them to police due to admitting to been able to retreive more infornation about me, he clearly wasnt very smart admitting it via xbox messages either.

    basically asking if xbox would do much to this player with said evidence.

    All you have to do os report the messages right from the options within the messages.

    report the messages via the xbox one messages and also reset your internet from the router then you ip should change unless its a static which means you need to contact your internet provider to change you ip hope this helps :)

    You should report the user via the tools in your console (go to
    the Enforcement page     and select "How do I?" on the top menu for details). You should also contact your Internet Service Provider since the attack was directed at your modem/IP, not your console.

    How reliable is reporting someone for ddos attack? I have his GT & proof of him admitting, someone on Xbox can log into my account and go read the message, DDoS attacks are serious issue in the gaming community & I would like someone to speak to about this individual.

    Yes he is definitely breaking rules but he is also breaking the law too,which is why you report them.

    But when microsoft investigate their account there will be no proof that he did anything,unless he has sent messages admitting his guilt.

    DDOS attacks need to be reported to your ISP and let them take action.
