Replacement Controller - Warranty Expired on Delivery

I had a Xbox Series Elite 2 Wireless which had lapsed warranty expiration, which had some button response issues. I raised a request for replacement through my account, and paid the $130+ dollars for the replacement controller to be issued.

Unfortunately the replacement controller has had issues on arrival, including bluetooth dropping off regularly, and significant stick drift.

When I went into the portal I expected to see my new controller with a new 2 year warranty, but it says expired sharing the same warranty expiry as my replacement controller even though it has a new serial number.

How can I organize repairs for this issue?

The contact us sends on an infinite loop. I tried to request a callback option but that failed as well.

Just curious why a replacement controller would be out of warranty on arrival, purchased through Microsoft directly to replace an out of warranty fault with an existing controller.

I have another controller, identical, which I purchased "while" this one was pending delivery, which works fine, just felt like a very expensive exercise though to receive a faulty controller out of the box. I thought I would be able to log a fault with the new controller, but discovered the warranty appears to be the same as my previous controller, even though it's a brand new device just received.

In this case, I'm afraid you'll need to contact Xbox Support for assistance setting up a service order for your replacement controller. May I ask if you have already tried doing so at [ https://support.xbox.com/contact-us ]?

Not all support topics offer a live chat or callback option, so maybe that site directed you to the forums.

Normally, replacement controllers are covered by the remaining time on the original controller's warranty, or for a designated period which may vary depending on where you live and regulations. I believe this is why your replacement controller shows the same warranty as the original one, although this is just based on speculation, as I'm not part of Microsoft's staff.

If the controller you received is faulty, the best thing to do is to contact Xbox Support for further assistance. May I ask what you mean when you say the "Contact Us" website sends you on a loop? Have you tried selecting a different contact topic? even if it's unrelated to your problem, an agent should be able to provide assistance or point you in the right direction.

My warranty expired last month. The only way I can replace my controller is from Best Buy but I can't because they are out of stock.

the warranty for Xbox One controllers is 90 days so if you have had it for over 3 months then the warranty has expired.

you will need to have the device registered to your account before you request a repair/replacement
