    Replace email of a pre-existing xbox account with a pre-existing outlook account? Help


    So a few years ago when I started playing Xbox I made my first account, this one. So after a couple of summers of playing games and getting them I decided to make my own outlook account. So when I made this new account all was good until I found out it
    has it's own xbox account included with it. So now I want to get the email from my outlook account set to the default email for this account while transferring my purchases, some stats and emails (please do NOT keep personal information from this outlook account
    as parts of it are incorrect and are annoying me ) to my old account. So could a microsoft member please help me here.

    P.s lemme know if I made sense, cause I am not too sure if I did, it's just confusing for me figuring out how to explain this.

    the account i would like to use. is there a way i can sign in with my pre-existing account that i am failing to see or do i have to make a new account? i would like to think i can sign in with my pre-existing account i had for like 10 years.

    Linking old Xbox account to new email address

    Your Outlook account cannot be used anymore since Outlook is also owned by Microsoft so by default, it is registered as a Microsoft/Xbox account automatically.

    You can only replace the Hotmail email with an email that is not registered as an existing Microsoft account yet.

    Please be informed that it's not possible to add a new Outlook email address that's already existing to another Microsoft/Xbox account. The Outlook email address you have is technically a Microsoft account. There's no way we can merge Microsoft accounts.

    If you want to replace the email of your current Xbox profile, simply go to https://account.microsoft.com/ > Your info > Edit account info. There will be an option to create a new Outlook email address there. You can only add an existing email address if it's a 3rd party email address that is not currently linked to any Microsoft accounts.

    change the email associated withan Xbox account     by adding a new email to the account and then removing the old one. Note that an existing @outlook/@live/@hotmailaccount is considered an existing Microsoft account with Microsoft/Xbox information associated
    with it and therefore can't be used, even if that account has never used Xbox Live features before. You could create a new @outlook/@live account in the process of setting up the new email, or use another email from another provider that is not already linked
    as an alias to a different Microsoft account. Hope this helps!

    you can't change the xbox account to an existing outlook account, you would need to create a new account during the alias creation. your outlook account is already a microsoft account and therefore already has an xbox account etc.

    you cant transfer accounts from one email to another.
