    I got my hard drive about a week or two ago. I downloaded games and played them with no problems. Now, "external hard drive ready for use" constantly kicks me out of games. I pressed and held my Xbox button for ten seconds, I changed the USB, I made sure
    that the ports were clean. But it always does this. What should I do?

    sounds like a faulty cable or faulty hdd. is it a self powered or external powered hdd.

    I have experienced this issue many times before with my computers and found dust build up can cause faulty communication with electronics. I decided to open my external hard drive hub disconnect all three (3) hard drive's one by one and blew the dust out
    of it, then reconnected my hard drive hub to my Xbox and my read loop stopped, problem solved.

    P.S. Already setup instant sign-on. Actually seems to be part of the problem...
