    Hey

    I was recently given a ban for ‘screenshots’ on my Xbox. Which didn’t give any details whatsoever. After doing some research I discovered that taking screenshots of mature content is forbidden on Xbox as everything on the feed needs to be rated E.. I accept this, after all I played the Yakuza series from Start to finish and do take the odd screenshot here and there to diarise my gameplay and I therefore accepted and served my 4 day ban.

    During this ban time I played nothing except Taiko No Tatsujin (the drumming rhythm game) and took no screenshots… I also talked on Xbox Support chat and they told me by making my feed private I shouldn’t encounter this issue again… however as soon as my ban was finished, I’ve been banned again for the exact same reason!

    I tried to appeal and failed.

    I tried calling Xbox over the phone and they said they don’t deal with enforcements…

    Now as a 36 year old man, who plays 1 player games offline.. I feel like I am walking on eggshells over the fact that my Xbox Live account; which I’ve had for almost 20 years, is going to get permanently banned! I’ve dedicated a lot of time and effort into my gamerscore too.

    Has anyone else had this issue?

    I personally don't think that your account is going to be banned permanently for having screenshots.

    I have another idea too. Temporary console banned, like 24 hours, if they repeat, 1 week, rinse and repeat 2 week, rinse and repeat again, perma banned console hehe

    Screenshot bans

    You can view your ban by logging in at enforcement.xbox.com and
    from there file a case review if the ban is eligible for one. Playing the game and viewing the content is different from sharing it on your profile.
