Renewal Promotion Discount

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my other support submission which was closed without allowing me to reply but when renewing my gold for 12 months at the promotional price I was unable to take advantage of that offer, for whatever reason.

The offer was available through the Gold page accessed via the dashboard on Xbox One. The promotion was to get 12 months of gold for $35.99 instead of at full price. This promotion was good through the end of my subscription but when I went to redeem (with
two days remaining) I was shown the discounted price up until the final confirmation page where I would submit the order. At that point it showed a price of $59.99 rather than the offered $35.99. The offer did not expire as my Gold had not expired at that
time, so there was absolutely no reason for this to occur, especially since the promotion was still displayed all the way to the final confirmation page where the price changed.

Renewing Subscription

Discounts are usually promotions or specials. They only are the discounted price once. After that, they renew at the regular price unless automatic renewal is disabled.

 

12 month auto renewals price change for no reason. Help!

I remember when those deals were available and that is the correct price. The price of gold changed on November 1, 2010. The "lock in" promotion would give you a discount on a one year renewal at that time, but the renewal price would change to the regular
price after that 1st year.

HERE. An Xbox Live Gold account expires based on the GMT time is was renewed, which is the same with any account or subscription. In other words, it sounds like the offer was expired when you tried to complete the purchase and that's why on the confirmation
page it displayed $59.99. Since these are limited time offers that need to be completed on the console, we don't have the ability to offer that price again and you'll need to purchase Xbox Live Gold at full price, since it's no longer showing the offer. Of
course prices and promotions vary by region and you may want to check around to see if any local authorized retailers are having any sales on subscriptions, which does happen throughout the course of the year.
